It's all about information:
making the right information widely available.
Of course some information needs to have tightly restricted availability.

Why do you want an Effective Internet Presence for
yourself or your
company?
Your Internet presence can make (or break) you or your company.
Do you want to:
Maybe you just want to not fade away? As in become
obsolete and
"close to
unemployable" or a company on the "permanent downswing."
If you don't exist on the Web or the search engines can't find you, you basically don't exist!
It doesn't matter if you're a consultant, an employee looking for advancement or a new job, or an online or brick and mortar company.

You NEED an Effective Internet Presence.
Effective in the business sense. It does not necessarily mean a fancy and expensive Web site. In fact many of those serve NO business purpose and are waste of money, except for the usually well meaning "electronic artists," also known as Web Designers, who design and create them. Look at the cars most Web Designers drive, and then think about how much business knowledge they must have!
An effective Web site is only one part of an Effective Internet Presence.
Other parts of an Effective Web Presence can include:
Some individuals actually have an Effective Internet Presence without a Web site!
United Press International calls Ted an "IT expert" and eWeek calls him a "leading IT consultant."

Just Google "Ted Demopoulos" and see.
I'd
suggest you pack a lunch or perhaps open a good bottle of wine as there
are tens of thousand of results on me.
I've been online seemingly forever.
My first exposure to email was before the term was invented, when in 1979 Professor Slesnick demanded we get our homework assignments via Dartmouth's "BlitzMail." I was on the Internet shortly thereafter. In the early 1990s much of my business was done online as my early clients were primarily technology companies.
Despite my early online presence, I was very late in establishing my first Web site, and when I did, I made every mistake in the book and several original ones!
I encourage you to learn from my and others' mistakes and successes, and then make your own original mistakes.
In 2004 I started blogging to help support my consulting and speaking business and had concrete measurable results in less than 24 hours. My Web site traffic quadrupled in less than a month. My blog was instrumental in selling speeches, training, consulting, and more.
CIO Today calls Ted a "Blogging Expert."
Look for my free ebook on developing an Effective Internet Presence due in very early 2008, and enjoy the information on my site.
